WHAT IS IT?
The model of gun that I looked at was HOPOSO Massage Gun Deep Tissue. It offers a 30 Speed Handheld Muscle Massager, with 6 alternative heads to choose from for different areas of the body, a wide range of massage speeds and strength and a LED Indicator Touch Screen, in black.
The gun is used to vibrate and massage different muscles on the body, to promote blood flow, break up muscle knots and improve muscle condition.
HOW CAN I USE IT?
You have various options on how to use the massage gun.
My preference was to use the gun on every second-day general massage over my body after a ten-minute stretching routine to massage out tight knots and help with recovery.
I would combine my general health care with another shot of the gun for about twenty minutes after attending a gym workout or a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lesson. After returning home, I would use the gun to go over my body and massage the main areas. I noticed a considerable decrease in doms and tight muscles the day after training.
The gun is low impact enough to use each day and ramp up the intensity when it is needed without injuring yourself when you need that extra pressure or deep-down massage.
HOW MUCH IS IT?
It is currently under £100 from Amazon UK. As of 13th August 2021, it is available at a reduced cost of £69.99 and free delivery.
PROS
- There is a wide range of heads, for each section of the body and muscle types. I tend to stick to the one round ball head, but it is great in how flexible the options of heads are.
- The gun and heads come in a black carry case. I was really surprised at the quality materials, fit, and professional feel of the case. The case is normally something you need to purchase in addition with other products, and here you get a great case for free.
- The battery life is fantastic, and you can use it daily without needing to charge it often.
- Some massage guns vibrate at a high pulsing and it can cause problems with you holding the gun for a long time, with a potential for you to start to feel numb in your fingers and forearm.
- Furthermore, the sound of the vibrating is very low in comparison to other devices I have tried. Regardless of the speed you put the massage at, the noise produced is very low and acceptable. You could use it when others were conversing or sleeping nearby and not wake them.
- There is a large volume of speeds available to use on your body and work in the target areas.
CONS
- The size of the gun is large, and not really suitable for travel IMO. The case is made very well and spacious, but the gun and the case are not small items you can just throw in your case, so it is best suited for use at your home.
- When your friends and training partners see how good it is, they will all want to use it!
- The handle is a bit thicker than others I have used, so some with smaller handles may struggle to grasp it.
IS IT WORTH THE MONEY?
If you train in a sport, work out in a gym or suffer from any tight muscles, aches etc, then you need to get this!
I found my muscle DOMS were eased with the use of the gun after each training session. After seeing the benefits, I noticed that with a daily short burst after a stretching protocol, I noticed intense and quick improvements to my mobility and general health.
The gun is low priced, easy to use, offers a great range of services and options, has a long battery life, works great, and is a must-have for all athletes, pro or amateur, or anyone looking to improve their overall health.
