KEY POINTS, Links & Actions

Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on:

  • We can seek help and improve our mental health, you can beat your demons and be healthier and happier.
  • You can define what masculinity means to you – you don’t need to live your life to someone else’s standards. You can decide what defines success for you as a person and live life as you want, and it is very freeing.
  • Men tend to wait till the end of their tether to ask for help, but that is normally too late, it can cause problems at work, in relationships etc before then. If you start to see problems or others comment on it, reach out and speak to someone, exercise, eat and sleep better etc.
  • A lot of our behavior is programming that we have been shaped by our history up to that point – like all programmes, we can delete, upgrade, change, or improve. Stop accepting, and start acting.
  • You need more discipline, not motivation to be successful and happier.
  • Breath-work training can help you change your anxiety, stress, and blocks we are holding onto.
  • Your upbringing helps shapes you as a person and how you will see and interact with the world. Yet, it can be changed, your past doesn’t need to be your future.
  • You should identify yourself from your core beliefs, not what you own and how much you make.
  • Struggling with your mental health can have benefits. You can see the struggle in others, be more empathetic to others who are struggling, and be able to discuss problems more openly and honestly as you know the struggle.
  • Look at the data, not the feelings. Remove the emotions, and tackle it logically.
  • The comfort zone can be the worst thing in the world, it can feel safe and warm, but it keeps you from wanting to take a risk, to change, to try something new or improve. You accept things in your comfort zone, you endure. Leave the comfort zone and finally find the change you want in life.
  • Elise made the decision to change her own mental health, and you can too. You don’t need to know it all, you don’t need to know how to fix it, as there are amazing doctors, therapists, etc who can help you with your struggles to allow you to live happier and healthier.
  • We are all affected by our trauma, and no-one deserves trauma, but its how you deal with it, that’s your decision on what happens. You can’t fix what happened to you, but you can change how you deal with it.
  • It (can be) is scary to admit you need help. However, a short burst of fear is the price for a massive change in your life. Please don’t sit and suffer in silence. You can take control. You can live life as you want. Take the power back, take your control back and become happier today.
  • You can change your brain at any age, the only thing stopping you, is the limiting beliefs and BS that we tell ourselves. Our brains are always able to change, grow and adapt until we die.
  • Healing your inner child, can make your future self, happier, healthier and at peace with life.
  • Medication can help, but you must always take action to face your problems and deal with the dark areas that are blocking your views in the future.
  • Our childhood shapes our behaviors. Often we can source the energy for a behavior from our childhood.
  • Don’t use depression or anxiety as a badge of honor, don’t try and shape your identity by it. Instead look at what you can do to fix it, look at the control you have and start making the changes you need in your life.
  • Items will not make you happy. You need to be happy with yourself first, before you can be happy in life. You need to figure out who you want to be in your life.
  • Role models and father figures in life are key to helping us develop as men, but we don’t need to have a good father to become a good man, we can find great examples to imitate and take the good parts from in our lives, by looking at media, our work life, our friends etc.

LEVEL UP Time WITH THIS KEY LESSON!

About the Author
I’m a podcaster who interviews great examples of people to discuss and highlight the methods, hacks, tips and procedures you can use in your own life to help you develop and better your life. I would definitely not consider myself an expert, so to improve, I ask them and action it in my own life! My personal journey has been marked by awkwardness and awesomeness, OCD and ‘OMG’. I have suffered with depression, shyness, unhappiness and lack of focus and motivation so I know what’s it like to feel lost and hopeless. Back then, I wished I had a podcast to listen to and find actual fixes and concrete action steps and not just unobtainable suggestions and promotion of their products but couldn’t find it … so I made my own!
