SOME THINGS TO REFLECT ON

In this interview, a lot of jewels of self-improvement are discussed. Some of these and their associated thoughts include:

  •  Despite being a natural lifter, Jay spends a lot of time researching, learning from sources and trying to improve his knowledge and skills. Keep the ego out of the way, build the work ethic, investigate how you can improve and what you can improve on. Then set a plan and achieve it.
  • Learn to work on the art of being patience, learning to be able to be in the moment, to remain calm and focused and avoid feeling annoyance etc can really help you in learning new skills, your mental health etc.
  • Just because it is the typical habits for someone your age or what others want or expect you to do, you do not need to follow the standard path. If you have a dream, you can forge your own path like Jay outlines, focus on what you want from life, avoid time wasting habits others are doing and work your ass off to succeed.
  • Kill the distractions, focus on what your goal is and put in the work. Forget the latest tools etc, go back to basics and push yourself. Stop thinking you are not enough, you can achieve what you want to do so don’t allow a piece of equipment, a tool etc to dictate from what you get from life.
  • Jay used the pain of coming second to use as motivation fuel to change up his approach to his training and come back stronger. If you looked at a negative event differently, flipped it over and looked at it as a learning experience, what could you do and achieve by it?

About the Author
I’m a podcaster who interviews great examples of people to discuss and highlight the methods, hacks, tips and procedures you can use in your own life to help you develop and better your life. I would definitely not consider myself an expert, so to improve, I ask them and action it in my own life! My personal journey has been marked by awkwardness and awesomeness, OCD and ‘OMG’. I have suffered with depression, shyness, unhappiness and lack of focus and motivation so I know what’s it like to feel lost and hopeless. Back then, I wished I had a podcast to listen to and find actual fixes and concrete action steps and not just unobtainable suggestions and promotion of their products but couldn’t find it … so I made my own!
